Wine Wednesday
Hungarian National Gallery
July 10, 2024

18:00 - 22:00

If it’s Wednesday, it’s Wine Wednesday!

Our most popular series of events will offer, this year again, an unusual museum programme for art and wine lovers. The event will once again offer a colourful programme on Wednesday evenings in July, with special exhibitions, exciting guided tours, live music and wine tasting.

The themes of this year’s Wine Wednesdays are based around the recently renewed permanent exhibitions. On each evening, you can discover the paintings of Tivadar Csontváry Kosztka, the exhibition of Hungarian art after 1945, Shifts – Updated!, the Collection of International Art after 1800, and our exhibition on twentieth-century Hungarian art, Modern Times.

This year, K&H Private Bank, one of the leading and dynamically growing private banks in the financial market, joined the event as a main sponsor. With the support of a financial institution committed to innovation and sustainability, and with the recommendation of Fanni Hatos, sommelier at the Michelin-starred SALT restaurant and the Wine Association’s wine liaison, this year’s event will be the first in the history of the programme to offer the opportunity to present Hungarian natural wineries, which are internationally renowned and recognised, whose wines are made from grapes grown using organic or biodynamic approaches, without additives.

On 10 July, the Szászi Estate and Bencze Estate on Szent György Hill, on 17 July the St. Margaret Winery and the Cellar of Laci Jász on Somló Hill, on 24 July the Pannonhalma Abbey Winery and the Unger Wine Manufactory from the western part of the country, and on 31 July the Koch Winery and the Sziegl Winery from Hajós-Baja will be presenting their wines.

Don’t miss Wine Wednesday this year either, and enjoy the wonderful panorama from the terrace of the National Gallery in the company of a couple of fine glasses of wine!
