With its characteristic dome recognisable from afar, the Buda Palace is one of the symbols of Budapest that dominates the panorama along the river Danube. The highest point of the Palace, the Dome of the Hungarian National Gallery offers a spectacular view on the capital. The terrace of the Dome is very popular with visitors, since with the exception of open-air lookouts, there are very few buildings in Budapest with a panoramic view that is accessible to everyone.
The Dome can be visited with a ticket bought to the permanent or temporary exhibitions, depending on weather conditions during opening hours from 10 am to 5 pm.
