The medal was made on the basis of the winning work (a cast medal) submitted in 1911 to the competition held annually by the Medal Lovers Association for its members. Its original title was Female Falconer. In connection with Fémes Beck’s medals, art historical reviews emphasise the individual proportions of the figures, as well as the relationship between contrived posture and orchestics. In addition, it is worth mentioning the geometric structure of the compositions. On a drawing made at about the same time for a similar medal, the artist sketched the figure in a rectangle (within the circular form of the medal). Therefore it can be assumed that he also constructed in advance a geometric frame for the Female Falconer, which is clearly apparent on the cast prototype. The arms and legs indeed form two intersecting parallel diagonal lines and it is only the arch of the trunk, along with the similarly geometric – though with different directions – lower legs that do not conform to this system.
