Late night opening

On 16 October, the museum will be open until 10 pm. Our temporary exhibition THE GALIMBERTI. The Lives and Works of Sándor Galimberti (1883–1915) and Valéria Dénes (1877–1915), as well as the permanent exhibitions can be visited this evening.
All the contents presented in our exhibition halls are also available in English.
This time again, we will be expecting our visitors with pleasant live music, delicious snacks, and wines! 

7 pm GUIDED TOUR| The Lives and Works of the Galimberti | Guided tour for English-speaking guests with visual artist Alexandra Hegedűs
The work of Sándor Galimberti and Valéria Dénes is scattered and largely missing, with barely more than forty of their paintings having survived. The couple made a similarly extensive journey on the map of Europe, travelling from Kaposvár through Nagybánya (Baia Mare, Romania) all the way to Paris, Belgium and, finally, to the Netherlands. The National Gallery’s exhibition presents the places that played an important role in the life of the couple.

7–9 pm WORKSHOP | Bag painting workshop inspired by the Galimberti
At the creative workshop you can make your own canvas bag inspired by and using the typical motifs of Sándor Galimberti, Mária Lanov, and Valéria Dénes. Take home “a piece of the exhibition”!

6 –10 pm MUSIC | Piano four hands concert by pianists Janka Turcsányi and Nóra Gábor-Nagy

The Dome can be visited until 9.30 pm

The events can be visited with a valid Museum+ ticket.

During the Museum+ evening, tickets for the event can also be purchased in the museum’s ticket offices.

In 2024, the MUSEUM+ evening programs will be available for more visitors thanks to the support of MVM Zrt.
