The relief of a tympanum made around 1100 originally decorated the pediment of the first cathedral of Gyulafehérvár (today Alba Iulia, Romania). Today it can be seen on the inner wall of the southern side aisle. As one of the oldest monuments of Hungarian sculpture, it represents the enthroned Christ with two angels.
Commissioned by the museum in 1905, the cast was made by József Reichenberger in Budapest. The copy was exhibited in the Romanesque Hall in 1906. In 1985 it was transferred to the Hungarian National Gallery.
