March: Simple Shapes
Art classes in the 19th century were based on studying and copying great works of art. Young talents practiced drawing by taking copies of classical sculptures or the paintings of Old Masters. Even today, it is not unusual for art school students to visit our exhibitions for the purpose of studying and copying artworks.
Once in a month, similarly to how art school students do, we practice drawing by sitting around an artwork in one of our galleries, sketching its lines on our papers. During the sessions, we will start by drawing after simple sculptures, and then continue with nudes and draperies. Joining in later is not a problem at all!
Participants will be guided by visual artist Alexandra Hegedűs. We will provide every tool you may need, but you are welcome to bring your own drawing supplies as well.
All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced and professional – you will definitely have fun anyway!
